Dwyers & Co
Dating back over 200 years, Dwyers of Cork are really going know how to make trousers!
We’re really proud of our heritage and this special family connection we have with the rag trade.
In 1820 James Dwyer, who was a dairy farmer in County Tipperary, decided a change was needed so he herded his cattle south to Cork. It must have taken him a good few days to walk the 50 miles to Cork but he thought he would get a better price. When James reached Cork he sold his herd and soon after set up a small clothing business in Cork City. Dwyers & Co grew from being a small shop to an important manufacturing and wholesale business, employing 3,000 people in Cork. To this day, we are still based in Cork and proud to call the city our home. Cork is situated on the south coast of Ireland. The city charter dates back over 800 years and Cork has seen many different ages come and go. It has always been a trading city based around the River Lee and is still a great place to do business. Most Cork people believe that Cork is a pretty special citymost recently it was awarded European Capital of Culture (2005) and voted one of the Top 10 cities in the world to visit by Lonely Planet.
Today Dwyers & Co is still a family business. My brother Alan and I took over from our father George. We enjoy making exceptional products for people passionate about what they wear. We have focused Dwyers& Co brand on golf trousers for the modern sportsman.
